This is a geometric planning tool. Door opening, wheel arches, load securing, axle distribution, legal route limits, packaging fragility and carrier-specific payload can reduce usable capacity.

Reference dimensions

Standard pallet dimensions come from EPAL / ISO principal dimensions. EU vehicle legal envelopes come from Directive 96/53/EC; internal trailer references are manufacturer data and remain editable. U.S. width/GVW references follow FHWA rules, while actual 53-ft trailer internal dimensions and payload remain carrier/equipment dependent.

What can make a truck “full”?

Capacity can be limited by payload, internal volume or usable pallet positions. A loading plan should evaluate all three, then consider constraints that a simple percentage cannot validate.

Physical and legal constraints

Door opening, wheel arches, axle distribution, load securing, protruding goods, stackability, unloading sequence and vehicle-specific payload can reduce practical capacity.

Final validation

Use this calculator as a pre-check, then validate the actual vehicle, packaging and applicable safety/legal limits before loading.
