What is IndusLog?
IndusLog is a set of practical logistics calculators and operational guides for transport, inventory, truck loading and customs preparation. The site focuses on making assumptions and limitations visible.
Are IndusLog tools free?
The core tools currently available on the website can be used directly online. If paid functionality is introduced later, it should be clearly identified before use.
Are transport estimates binding quotations?
No. They are planning estimates. Final transport prices depend on current carrier conditions, equipment, route, timing, contract terms and accessorial charges. Use a current carrier or forwarder quotation for booking.
Where do calculation inputs come from?
Depending on the tool, values may come from user input, a documented planning assumption, a public or official reference, or a market reference. IndusLog aims to distinguish these categories whenever possible.
Can IndusLog replace professional customs advice?
No. Customs tools help prepare research and structure information. Final tariff classification, duty treatment and regulatory requirements should be verified with the competent authority or a qualified customs professional.
How often should safety stock be reviewed?
Review it when demand patterns, supplier reliability, transport lead time, service targets or the operating model change materially. A calculation based on old behavior can become operationally irrelevant.
Why can truck capacity differ from the nominal pallet count?
Payload, pallet dimensions, protruding goods, stackability, axle distribution, loading sequence and vehicle-specific dimensions can all reduce usable capacity.
Does IndusLog store my calculations?
Calculator requests may be processed to return a result, but the site does not claim that every calculation is stored. Do not enter confidential information unless a tool explicitly explains how it is handled.
Can I suggest a tool or improvement?
Yes. Use the Suggest a Feature form. Your email is collected so IndusLog can follow up and is not displayed publicly.
Why does IndusLog explain limitations?
Operational decisions often depend on information that a generic calculator cannot verify, such as a negotiated carrier contract, a binding customs ruling or vehicle-specific restrictions. Limitations show what still needs human verification.
